    Psalm 19 A                                                                   Blue Psalter, pg 97

    The Stars Declare His Glory

    1. The stars declare his glory; the vault of heaven springs

    Mute witness of the Master’s hand in all created things,

    And through the silences of space their soundless music sings.

    1. The dawn returns in splendor, the heavens burn and blaze,

    The rising sun renews the race that measures all our days,

    And writes in fire across the skies God’s majesty and praise.

    1. So shine the Lord’s commandments to make the simple wise;

    More sweet than honey to the taste, more rich than any prize,

    A law of love within our hearts, a light before our eyes.

    1. So order too this life of mine, direct it all my days;

    The meditations of my heart be innocence and praise,

    My rock and my redeeming Lord, in all my words and ways.

    Scripture Reading:                                          Proverbs 3:1-2,5-8,11-12

    1 My son, do not forget my teaching,
    but let your heart keep my commandments,

    2 for length of days and years of life
    and peace they will add to you…

    5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
    and do not lean on your own understanding.

    6 In all your ways acknowledge him,
    and he will make straight your paths.

    7 Be not wise in your own eyes;
    fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.

    8 It will be healing to your flesh
    and refreshment to your bones...

    11 My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline
    or be weary of his reproof,

    12 for the Lord reproves him whom he loves,
    as a father the son in whom he delights.

    Prayer of Invocation

    Psalm 1F                                                                      Blue Psalter, pg 10

    Happy Is the One

    Happy is the one who does not take bad advice for a guide,

    Nor walks the path on which sinners have trod,

    Nor sits where the cynics mock.

    Happy is the one who takes delight in the law of the Lord,

    And meditates on it both day and night,

    And prospers in every way.

    Such a one as this is like a tree by the nourishing streams,

    Which yields its fruit when the season is right

    And bears leaves that never fade.

    Not so the wicked’s fate;

    for they are like chaff which the wind blows away,

    Will never stand and be confident

    On God’s great judgment day.

    Nor will the sinners walk among the assembly of God’s own folk;

    For wicked ways are all doomed by the Lord

    Who blesses the honest path.

    Declaring What We Believe:

    The Apostle’s Creed

    I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

    And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord;

    Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the virgin Mary;

    Suffered under Pontius Pilate;

    Was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell;

    The third day He rose again from the dead;

    He ascended into heaven,

    And sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

    From whence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

    I believe in the Holy Ghost;

    The holy universal church; The communion of saints;

    The forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the body;

    And the life everlasting. Amen.

    We Respond to God’s Presence

    Psalm 145C                                                                Blue Psalter, pg 946

    I Will Exalt My God, My King

    1:      I will exalt my God, my King;

    I will praise you name forever.

    I will exalt your name forever;

    Every day I’ll praise your holy name.

    Refrain:     I will praise your name forever;

    I will exalt your name forever.

    Lord our God, you are great

    and worthy of the highest praise and honor,

    for your greatness is far beyond us;

    Every day I’ll praise your holy name.

    2:      Each generation to the next

    Will proclaim your works of splendor,

    And celebrate your mighty deeds.

    Every day I’ll praise your holy name.

  • Red Hymnal #454

    Trust and Obey

    When we walk with the Lord In the light of His Word,

    What a glory He sheds on our way!

    While we do His good will, He abides with us still,

    And with all who will trust and obey.

    Refrain:    Trust and obey, for there’s no other way

    To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey

    Not a shadow can rise, Not a cloud in the skies,

    But His smile quickly drives it away;

    Not a doubt or a fear, Not a sigh or a tear,

    Can remain when we trust and obey.                 (Repeat Refrain)

    Not a burden we bear, Not a sorrow we share,

    But our toil He doth richly repay;

    Not a grief or a loss, Not a frown or a cross,

    But is blest if we trust and obey.                       (Repeat Refrain)

    Then in fellowship sweet We will sit at His feet,

    Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;

    What He says we will do, Where He sends we will go,

    Never fear, only trust and obey.                        (Repeat Refrain)

    Verse 1:     All people that on earth do dwell,

                      Sing to the Lord with cheerful voice.

    Serve him with joy, his praises tell,

    Come now before him and rejoice!

    Verse 2:     Know that the Lord is God indeed;

                      He formed us all without our aid.

                      We are the flock he comes to feed,

    The sheep who by his hand were made.

    Verse 3:     O enter then his gates with joy,

                      Within his courts his praise proclaim.

                      Let thankful songs your tongues employ,

    Verse 4:     Because the Lord our God is good,

    His mercy is forever sure.

                      His faithfulness at all times stood

    And shall from age to age endure.

    Verse 5:     Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
