    Welcome and Announcements

    Gathering the Family Together

    Rejoice, Rejoice, Come Sing with Me

    Rejoice, rejoice, come sing with me: “This is the house of God!”

    The temple gates swing wide and free—this is the house of God!

    For every tribe and every race this is the house of God!

    God calls us to this holy place—this is the house of God!

    In market square and city street we seek the peace of God.

    Before the ruler’s judgment seat, we seek the peace of God.

    In joyful song and whispered prayer we seek the peace of God.

    God’s city can be anywhere we seek the peace of God.

    Call To Worship

    Scripture Reading:                                                   Deuteronomy 6:4-9

    4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.

    5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

    6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart.

    7 You shall teach them diligently to your children and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

    8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.

    9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

    Prayer of Invocation

    Declaring What We Believe:

    The Apostle’s Creed

    I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

    And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord;

    Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the virgin Mary;

    Suffered under Pontius Pilate;

    Was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell;

    The third day He rose again from the dead;

    He ascended into heaven,

    And sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

    From whence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

    I believe in the Holy Ghost;

    The holy universal church; The communion of saints;

    The forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the body;

    And the life everlasting. Amen.

    We Respond to God’s Presence

    Hear. O Israel

    Solo:

    Hear, O Israel, the people of the Lord,

    Be still and know that He is God.

    Love the Lord your God with the fullness of your heart,

    With all your mind, your strength and soul.

    We draw near through Christ Who saves us;

    We draw near to the throne of grace.

    Hear, O Israel, the people of the Lord,

    Come lift your voice and praise your King.

    (Words and music written by Keith & Kristyn Getty and Stuart Townend)

    Come, People of the Risen King

    1. Come, people of the risen King, who delight to bring Him praise.

    Come all, and tune your hearts to sing to the Morning Star of grace.

    From the shifting shadows of the earth we will lift our eyes to Him,

    Where steady arms of mercy reach to gather children in.

    Refrain:     Rejoice! Rejoice! Let every tongue rejoice!

    One heart, one voice: oh, Church of Christ, rejoice!

    1. Come, those whose joy is morning sun,

    and those weeping through the night.

    Come, those who tell of battles won,

    and those struggling in the fight.

    For His perfect love will never change, and His mercies never cease,

    But follow us through all our days with the certain hope of peace.

    Repeat Refrain

    1. Come, young and old from every land, men and women of the faith.

    Come, those with full or empty hands; find the riches of His grace.

    Over all the world His people sing; shore to shore we hear them call

    The Truth that cries through every age: “Our God is all in all.”

    Repeat Refrain

    Behold Our God

    Come let us adore Him

    Behold our King nothing can compare

    Come let us adore Him!

    Verse 2:           Who has given counsel to the Lord?

    Who can question any of His Words?

    Who can fathom all His wondrous deeds?

    Repeat Chorus

    Verse 3:           Who has felt the nails upon His hands

    Christ Our Hope in Life and Death

    Leader:               What is our hope in life and death?

    Congregation: Christ alone, Christ alone.

    Leader:               What is our only confidence?

    Congregation: That our souls to Him belong.

    Leader:               Who holds our days within His hand?
    What comes, apart from His command?
    And what will keep us to the end?

    Congregation: The love of Christ, in which we stand.

    Congregation: In our great Redeemer’s blood.

    Leader:               Who holds our faith when fears arise?
    Who stands above the stormy trial?
    Who sends the waves that bring us nigh unto the shore?

    Congregation: The rock of Christ!

    Refrain:

    All:

    O sing hallelujah! Our hope springs eternal.
    O sing hallelujah! Now and ever, we confess

    Congregation: “Christ, He lives; Christ, He lives!”

    Leader:               And what reward will heaven bring?

    Congregation: Everlasting life with Him.
    There we will rise to meet the Lord,
    then sin and death will be destroyed,
    and we will feast in endless joy,
    When Christ is ours forevermore.

    Refrain:

    All:

    O sing hallelujah! Our hope springs eternal.
    O sing hallelujah! Now and ever, we confess
    Christ our hope in life and death.

    Sermon Hymn:                                                       Blue Psalter, pg. 1049

    The Lord’s Prayer (Abana in Heaven)

    Abana in heaven, hallowed be your holy name.

    Your kingdom come, your will be done, in all the earth as in heaven.

    Your kingdom come, your will be done, in all the earth as in heaven.

    And give to us, give us this day our daily bread, O Lord, we pray.

    Forgive our sins as we forgive those who have sinned against us.

    And save us in time of trial. Deliver us from evil.

    Yours is the kingdom, yours the power. Yours is the glory now and ever.

    Abana in heaven. Amen

    Sharing of the Elements

    We invite to the Lord’s Table all those who are baptized disciples of Jesus Christ and are under the authority of Christ and His body, the Church. By eating the bread and drinking the wine with us as a visitor, you are acknowledging to the elders of this local church that you are in covenant with God and an active member of a congregation in which the gospel is faithfully confessed, taught, and believed. You also acknowledge that you are a sinner, without hope except in the sovereign mercy of God, and that you are trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. If you have any doubt about your participation, please speak to the elders before or after the service.

    May the Peace

    1. May the peace of God our Heav’nly Father,

    and the grace of Christ the risen Son,

    And the fellowship of God the Spirit

    keep our hearts and minds within His love.

    And to Him be praise for His glorious reign,

    from the depths of earth to the heights of Heav’n;

    We declare the name of the Lamb once slain—

    Christ eternal the King of Kings.

    1. May this peace which passes understanding,

    and this grace which makes us what we are,

    And this fellowship of His communion

    make us one in spirit and in heart.

    And to Him be praise for His glorious reign,

    from the depths of earth to the heights of Heav’n;

    We declare the name of the Lamb once slain—

    Christ eternal the King of Kings.
