    Call To Worship

    Scripture Reading:                                                     Ephesians 5:15-21

    15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,

    16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.

    17 Therefore do not be foolish but understand what the will of the Lord is.

    18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,

    19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,

    20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

    21 submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

    Prayer of Invocation

    Song of Response:

    Psalm 100

    Refrain:     Sing! Sing! Lift every voice! Sing to the Lord;

    O sing, rejoice! Let your songs ring out! Lift every voice!

    Let your songs ring out! O sing, rejoice!

    Verse 1 – Everyone:

    All people who on earth do dwell,

    Sing out your praise with cheerful voice;

    Be glad in God, whose praise you tell,

    Come, sing to God; let all rejoice.                        (Refrain)

    Verse 2—Women & Girls:

    For God alone is the Lord, indeed;

    Without our aid God did us make;

    We are God’s flock, we now may feed;

    And for God’s sheep God does us take.               (Refrain)

    Verse 3 – Men & Boys:

    O enter then God’s gates with praise;

    Approach God’s courts with shouts of joy;

    Praise, laud, and bless God’s name always;

    Let every voice God’s praise employ.                  (Refrain)

    Verse 4 – Everyone:

    Make known the truth that God is good,

    Whose mercy is forever sure,

    Whose truth at all times firmly stood,

    And shall from age to age endure.                        (Refrain)

    Declaring What We Believe:

    We Believe

    (Apostles Creed)

    Refrain:   We believe in one true God; Father, Spirit, Son;

    One Church, one faith, one Lord of all—His Kingdom come.

    1. We believe in God the Father Almighty, Lord of Life;

    Creator of the Heavens, the earth, the sea, the sky;

    And we believe in Jesus, the only Son of God;

    Born of the virgin Mary; He lived as one of us.                   (Refrain)

    1. We believe that Jesus suffered, was beaten, crucified;

    He died and He was buried; entombed in darkest night.

    The third day rose victorious; ascended into Heaven;

    Will one day come to judge us, the living and the dead.      (Refrain)

    1. We believe in God the Spirit, One Church empowered by Him;

    Communion of God’s people; forgiveness of our sin.

    Our bodies resurrected to everlasting life;

    To worship, love and wonder before the throne of Christ.   (Refrain)

    We Respond to God’s Presence

    Red Hymnal #24

    O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus

    O the deep, deep love of Jesus, Vast, unmeasured, boundless, free!

    Rolling as a mighty ocean in its fullness over me!

    Underneath me, all around me, is the current of Thy love –

    Leading onward, leading homeward, to Thy glorious rest above!

    O the deep, deep love of Jesus – Spread His praise from shore to shore!

    How He loveth, ever loveth, changeth never, nevermore!

    How He watches o’er His loved ones, died to call them all His own;

    How for them He intercedeth, watcheth o’er them from the throne!

    O the deep, deep love of Jesus, love of every love the best!

    ‘Tis an ocean full of blessing, ‘tis a haven giving rest!

    O the deep, deep love of Jesus – ‘tis a heaven of heavens to me;

    And it lifts me up to glory, for it lifts me up to Thee!

    Words: Samuel Trevor Francis. Music: EBENEZER, Thomas J. Williams

  • Psalm 104F:                                                           Blue Psalter, page 664

    O Worship the King

    Verse 1 – All:

    O worship the King, all glorious above,

    O gratefully sing, His power and His love;

    Our shield and defender, the Ancient of Days,

    Pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise.

    Verse 2.— All:

    O tell of His might, O sing of His grace,

    Whose robe is the light, whose canopy space,

    His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,

    And dark is His path on the wings of the storm.

    Verse 3 – Men & Boys:

    Thy bountiful care, what tongue can recite?

    It breathes in the air, it shines in the light;

    It streams from the hills, it descends to the plain,

    And sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.

    Verse 4 – Women & Girls:

    Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,

    In Thee do we trust, nor find Thee to fail;

    Thy mercies how tender, how firm to the end,

    Our maker, defender, redeemer, and friend.

    Verse 5 – All:

    O measureless might, Unchangeable love,

    Whom angels delight to worship above!

    Your ransomed creation, with glory ablaze,

    In true adoration shall sing to your praise.

    Words: Robert Grant, 1833, Music: (Lyons 10.10.11.11) W. Gardiner’s Sacred Melodies, 1815; attr. Johann Michael Haydn, P.D.

    My Shepherd is the Lord; nothing indeed shall I want.

    Solo All Verses:

    My shepherd is the Lord; there is nothing I shall want.

    Near restful waters he leads me, to revive my drooping spirit.

    Repeat Refrain

    He guides me along the right path; he is true to his name.

    If I should walk in the valley of darkness no evil would I fear.

    You are there with your crook and your staff;

    with these you give me comfort.

    Repeat Refrain

    You have prepared a banquet for me in the sight of my foes.

    My head you have anointed with oil; my cup is overflowing.

    Repeat Refrain

    Surely goodness and kindness shall follow me all the days of my life.

    In the Lord’s own house shall I dwell for ever and ever.

    Repeat Refrain

    To the Father and Son give glory; Give glory to the Spirit.

    To God who is, who was, and who will be, Forever and ever.

    Red Hymnal #326

    All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name

    All hail the power of Jesus’ name!

    Let angels prostrate fall, Let angels prostrate fall;

    Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown Him,

    Crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, and crown Him Lord of all.

    Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race,

    Ye ransomed from the fall; Ye ransomed from the fall;

    Hail Him who saves you by His grace, and crown Him,

    Crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, and crown Him Lord of all.

    Let every kindred, every tribe

    On this terrestrial ball, on this terrestrial ball,

    To Him all majesty ascribe, and crown Him,

    Crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, and crown Him Lord of all.

    O that with yonder sacred thong

    We at His feet may fall, We at His feet may fall!

    We’ll join the everlasting song, and crown Him,

    Crown Him, crown Him, crown Him, and crown Him Lord of all. Amen.

    Words: Edward Perronet, John Rippon. Music: DIADEM, James Ellor.

    In Silence My Soul Thirsts

    Verse 1:   In silence my soul thirsts for God; for God alone I wait.

    My enemies may chase me down,

    Love shields me from their hate.

    Refrain:    God is my rock, God is my strength,

    God is my salvation, my refuge, my abiding peace.

    I shall not be shaken.

    Verse 2:   In stillness I pour out my fears, the solitude builds trust.

    My refuge rests in God’s great grace,

    My anxious thoughts are hushed.                 (Refrain)

    There is a Higher Throne

    1. There is a higher throne than all this world has known,

    Where faithful ones from ev’ry tongue will one day come.

    Before the Son we’ll stand, made faultless through the Lamb;

    Believing hearts find promised grace; Salvation comes.

    Chorus:  Hear Heaven’s voices sing; Their thund’rous anthem rings

    Through emerald courts and sapphire skies; Their praises rise.

    All glory, wisdom, pow’r, strength,

    thanks and honour are to God, our King,

    Who reigns on high forevermore.

    1. And there we’ll find our home; Our life before the throne.

    We’ll honour Him in perfect song where we belong.

    He’ll wipe each tear stained eye as thirst and hunger die.

    The Lamb becomes our Shepherd King; We’ll reign with Him.

    Repeat Chorus
