Gathering the Family Together
Father, We have Sinned
- Father, we have sinned in word, and deed, and thought;
Through ignorance, through weakness, through deliberate fault.
We’ve sinned against our neighbors and against You, Lord.
Yet we are truly sorry, and we turn to You once more.
- Father of the nations, You who bless the poor—
We’re servants of the endless want and strive for more.
We’ve made our greed a virtue, while the children starve;
Come change our joy to sorrow, till our lives reflect Your heart.

Call To Worship
Scripture Reading: Psalm 57
1 Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me,
for in you my soul takes refuge;
in the shadow of your wings I will take refuge,
till the storms of destruction pass by.2 I cry out to God Most High,
to God who fulfills his purpose for me.3 He will send from heaven and save me;
he will put to shame him who tramples on me. SelahGod will send out his steadfast love and his faithfulness!
4 My soul is in the midst of lions;
I lie down amid fiery beasts—
the children of man, whose teeth are spears and arrows,
whose tongues are sharp swords.5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!
Let your glory be over all the earth!6 They set a net for my steps; my soul was bowed down.
They dug a pit in my way,
but they have fallen into it themselves. Selah7 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast!
I will sing and make melody!8 Awake, my glory!
Awake, O harp and lyre!I will awake the dawn!
9 I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples;
I will sing praises to you among the nations.10 For your steadfast love is great to the heavens,
your faithfulness to the clouds.11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!
Let your glory be over all the earth!Prayer of Invocation
Declaring What We Believe
Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord;
Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the virgin Mary;
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
Was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell;
The third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
And sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
From whence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost;
The holy universal church; The communion of saints;
The forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the body;
And the life everlasting. Amen.
We Respond to God’s Presence
What the Lord Has Done in Me
Let the weak say I am strong. Let the poor say I am rich.
Let the blind say I can see. It’s what the Lord has done in me.
Chorus: Hosanna, hosanna to the Lamb that was slain.
Hosanna, hosanna, Jesus died and rose again.
Into the river I will wade, There my sins are washed away.
From the heaven’s mercy stream. Of the Savior’s love for me.
Repeat Chorus
I will rise from waters deep Into the saving arms of God;
I will sing salvation’s song – “Jesus Christ has set me free!”
Repeat Chorus

Who sits on the throne forever;

Who worship the Lamb forevermore.
People from ev’ry nation and tribe will praise the great I Am;
Singing in ev’ry language and tongue, “Salvation to our Lamb”
Repeat Chorus
Angels of God surrounding the throne will lift their voice and sing;
“Blessing and glory, power and might, be unto Christ our King.”
Repeat Chorus, ending with additional “Forevermore”

Get On Board, Little Children
The Gospel train’s a-comin,’—I hear it just at hand,
I hear the car wheels rumb-lin’—An’ rollin’ thru the land.
Get on board little children, Get on board little children,

By Faith
Verse 1: By faith we see the hand of God
In the light of creation’s grand design
In the lives of those who prove His faithfulness
Who walk by faith and not by sight
Verse 2: By faith our fathers roamed the earth
With the power of His promise in their hearts
Of a holy city built by God's own hand
A place where peace and justice reign
Refrain: We will stand as children of the promise
We will fix our eyes on Him our soul’s reward
Till the race is finished and the work is done
We’ll walk by faith and not by sight
Verse 3: By faith the prophets saw a day
When the longed-for Messiah would appear
With the power to break the chains of sin and death
And rise triumphant from the grave
Verse 4: By faith the church was called to go
In the power of the Spirit to the lost
To deliver captives and to preach good news
In every corner of the earth
Repeat Refrain
Verse 5: By faith this mountain shall be moved
And the power of the gospel shall prevail
For we know in Christ all things are possible
For all who call upon His name
Repeat Refrain
