Psalm 122 F Blue Psalter, pg. 814
With Joy I Heard My Friends Exclaim
Verse 1
With joy I heard my friends exclaim:
“Come, let us in God’s temple meet,”
Within your gates, O Zion blest, shall ever stand our willing feet.
Refrain: Come, let us go to the house of the Lord.
Zion, sing; sing out your peace and joy.
Verse 2
How beautiful does Zion stand, a city built compact and fair;
The people of the Lord unite with joy and praise to worship there.
(Repeat Refrain)
Verse 3
They come to learn the will of God, to pay their vows, God’ grace to own,
For there is judgment’s royal seat, Messiah’s sure and lasting throne.
(Repeat Refrain)
Verse 4
For Zion’s peace let prayers be made; may all that love you prosper well!
Within your walls let peace abide, and gladness with your children dwell.
(Repeat Refrain)
Verse 5
For love of friends and kindred dear, my heart’s desire is Zion’s peace,
And for the house of God, the Lord, my loving care shall never cease. (Repeat Refrain)

Call To Worship
Scripture Reading: Psalm 65:1-13
1 It is fitting to praise you in Zion, God; vows should be paid to you.
2 Hearer of prayer, to you everyone should come.
3 Evil deeds are too heavy for me; only you can wipe out our offenses.
4 Happy are those whom you choose and bring near to remain in your courts. Grant us in abundance the bounty of your house, of your holy temple.
5 Through dread deeds you answer us with victory, God our deliverer, in whom all put their trust at the ends of the earth and on distant seas.
6 By your might you fix the mountains in place; you are girded with strength;
7 you calm the seas and their raging waves, and the tumult of the nations.
8 The dwellers at the ends of the earth are overawed by your signs;
you make east and west sing aloud in triumph.9 You care for the earth and make it fruitful; you enrich it greatly, filling its great channels with rain. In this way you prepare the earth and provide grain for its people.
10 You water its furrows, level its ridges, soften it with showers, and bless its growth.
11 You crown the year with your good gifts; places where you have passed drip with plenty;
12 the open pastures are lush and the hills wreathed in happiness;
13 the meadows are clothed with sheep and the valleys decked with grain, so that with shouts of joy they break into song.

Prayer of Invocation
Wellspring
River of Joy flowing deep in my soul,
Wellspring of Life won’t You come make me whole.
Water the desert of my thirsting days,
Fountain of Love, hear my sweet song of praise.
I sing with joy as I rest in You.
I sing with faith as I trust in You.
I sing with love as I worship You;
Wellspring of Life, come and make me new.

Declaring What We Believe
The Apostle’s Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord;
Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the virgin Mary;
Suffered under Pontius Pilate;
Was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell;
The third day He rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
And sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
From whence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost;
The holy universal church; The communion of saints;
The forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the body;
And the life everlasting. Amen.
We Respond to God’s Presence
Jesus, Draw Me Ever Nearer
Jesus, draw me ever nearer, as I labor through the storm.
You have called me to this passage, and I’ll follow, though I’m worn.
May this journey bring a blessing, may I rise on wings of faith;
And at the end of my heart’s testing, with Your likeness let me wake.
Jesus, guide me through the tempest; Keep my spirit staid and sure.
When the midnight meets the morning, let me love You even more.
May this journey bring a blessing, may I rise on wings of faith;
And at the end of my heart’s testing, with Your likeness let me wake.
Let the treasures of the trial form within me as I go
And at the end of this long passage, let me leave them at Your throne.
May this journey bring a blessing, may I rise on wings of faith;
And at the end of my heart’s testing, with Your likeness let me wake.

With Grateful Heart My Thanks I Bring
Verse 1
With grateful heart my thanks I bring; before the “gods” your praise I sing.
I worship in your holy place and praise you for your truth and grace;
For truth and grace together shine in your most holy Word divine,
in your most holy Word divine.
Verse 2
I cried to you, and you did save; your word of grace new courage gave.
The kings of earth shall thank you, Lord,
for they have heard your wondrous word;
Yes, they shall come with songs of praise
for great and glorious are your ways,
for great and glorious are your ways.
Verse 3
O lord, enthroned in glory bright, you reign alone in heavenly height;
The proud in vain your favor seek, but you have mercy for the meek.
Through trouble though my pathway be,
you will revive and strengthen me,
you will revive and strengthen me.
Verse 4
You will stretch forth your mighty arm to save me when my foes alarm.
The work you have for me begun shall by your grace be fully done.
Your love forever will endure: your mercy, Lord, is ever sure;
your mercy, Lord, is ever sure.

-
Your Hand, O God, Has Guided
- Your hand, O God, has guided Your church from age to age;
The tale of love is written for us on every page.
Our fathers knew Your goodness and we Your works record;
And each of these bear witness; One church, one faith, one Lord.
Refrain: One church, one faith, one Lord of life;
One Father, one Spirit, one Christ.
One church, one faith, one Lord of life;
One Heavenly King, Lord of all.
- Your mercy never fails us, or leaves Your work undone;
With Your right hand to help us, the victory shall be won.
And then, by all creation, Your Name shall be adored;
With earth and Heaven singing: One church, one faith, one Lord.
Repeat Refrain

We Worship Through Hearing
Sermon Hymn:
Speak, O Lord
1 Speak, O Lord, as we come to You
To receive the food of Your Holy Word.
Take Your truth, plant it deep in us;
Shape and fashion us in Your likeness,
That the light of Christ might be seen today
In our acts of love and our deeds of faith.
Speak, O Lord, and fulfill in us
All Your purposes for Your glory.
2 Teach us, Lord, full obedience,
Holy reverence, true humility;
Test our thoughts and our attitudes
In the radiance of Your purity.
Cause our faith to rise; cause our eyes to see
Your majestic love and authority.
Words of pow'r that can never fail—
Let their truth prevail over unbelief.
- Speak, O Lord, and renew our minds;
Help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us—
Truths unchanged from the dawn of time
That will echo down through eternity.
And by grace we'll stand on Your promises,
And by faith we'll walk as You walk with us.
Speak, O Lord, till Your church is built
And the earth is filled with Your glory.

Notes
We Are Sent Forth in Worship
to Share the Gospel
We Are Your Church
God has built His church on one foundation—
Jesus Christ, the Living Cornerstone.
Crucified and risen to redeem us,
We adore and worship Him alone.
Refrain:
We are Your church, Your bride, the people of Your name.
In Your strength we live; we worship, unashamed,
For Your cause we serve; We joyfully proclaim we are Your people;
We are Your church.
Set apart to serve our loving Savior,
given power to share redemption’s plan—
We will tell the world the love of Jesus;
we will preach the cross to every land. (Repeat Refrain)
With a shout, the Bridegroom is returning.
Heaven’s Prince will come to claim His own.
We will rise to reign with Him forever;
We will sing our praise around His throne. (Repeat Refrain)
