    Call To Worship

    Scripture Reading:                                                       Hebrews 4:14-16

    14 Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

    15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

    16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

    Prayer of Invocation

    Declaring What We Believe

    Across the Lands

    1. You’re the Word of God the Father from before the world began;

    Every star and every planet has been fashioned by Your hand.

    All creation holds together by the power of Your voice.

    Let the skies declare Your glory; let the land and seas rejoice

    Chorus:     You’re the Author of creation; You’re the Lord of every man,

    And Your cry of love rings out across the lands.

    1. Yet You left the gaze of angels, came to seek and save the lost

    And exchanged the joy of Heaven for the anguish of a cross.

    With a prayer You fed the hungry, with a word You calmed the sea;

    Yet how silently You suffered, that the guilty may go free.

    Chorus

    1. With a shout You rose victorious, wrestling victory from the grave

    And ascended into Heaven, leading captives in Your way.

    Now You stand before the Father, interceding for Your own;

    From each tribe and tongue and nation You are leading sinners home.

    Chorus

    We Respond to God’s Presence

    How Deep the Father’s Love for Us

    How deep the Father’s love for us, how vast beyond all measure,

    That He should give His only Son to make a wretch His treasure.

    How great the pain of searing loss, the Father’s wrath on full display,

    As wounds which mar the Chosen One bring many sons to glory.

    Behold the man upon a cross, my sin upon His shoulders;

    Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice call out among the scoffers.

    It was my sin that held Him there until it was accomplished;

    His dying breath has brought me life, I know that it is finished.

    I will not boast in anything, no gifts, no pow’r, no wisdom;

    But I will boast in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection.

    Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer,

    But this I know with all my heart, His wounds have paid my ransom.

  • I Run to Christ

    Verse 1

    I run to Christ when chased by fear and find a refuge sure.

    “Believe in me,” His voice I hear, His words and wounds secure.

    I run to Christ when torn by grief and find abundant peace.

    “I, too, had tears,” He gently speaks; Thus, joy and sorrow meet.

    Verse 2

    I run to Christ when worn by life and find my soul refreshed.

    “Come unto me,” He calls through strife; fatigue gives way to rest.

    I run to Christ when vexed by hell and find a mighty arm.

    “The Devil flees,” the Scriptures tell; He roars, but cannot harm.

    Verse 3

    I run to Christ when stalked by sin and find a sure escape.

    “Deliver me,” I cry to Him. Temptation yields to grace.

    I run to Christ when plagued by shame and find my one defense.

    “I bore God’s wrath,” He pleads my case, My Advocate and Friend.

    Jesus is Lord

    “Jesus is Lord” the cry that echoes through creation;

    Resplendent pow’r, eternal Word, our Rock.

    The son of God, the King whose glory fills the heavens.

    Yet bids us come to taste this Living Bread.

    “Jesus is Lord” whose voice sustains the stars and planets,

    Yet in His wisdom laid aside His Crown.

    Jesus the Man, who washed our feet, who bore our suff’ring,

    Became a curse to bring salvation’s plan.

    “Jesus is Lord” the tomb is gloriously empty!

    Not even death could crush this King of love!

    The price is paid, the chains are loosed, and we’re forgiven,

    And we can run into the arms of God.

    “Jesus is Lord” a shout of joy, a cry of anguish,

    As He returns and every knee bows low.

    Then every eye and every heart will see His glory;

    The Judge of all will take His children home.
