    Change My Heart, O God

Change my heart, O God, make it ever true.

Change my heart, O God, may I be like You.

    You are the Potter, I am the clay;

Mold me and make me, this is what I pray.

    Change my heart, O God, make it ever true;

Change my heart, O God, may I be like You.

    Scripture Reading:                                                             Luke 6:27-36

    Love Your Enemies

27 “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,

28 bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you.

29 To one who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also, and from one who takes away your cloak do not withhold your tunic either.

30 Give to everyone who begs from you, and from one who takes away your goods do not demand them back.

31 And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

32 “If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.

33 And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.

34 And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount.

35 But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil.

36 Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.”

    Declaring What We Believe

    Every Promise of Your Word

From the breaking of the dawn to the setting of the sun,

I will stand on ev’ry promise of Your Word.

Words of power, strong to save, that will never pass away,

I will stand on ev’ry promise of Your Word.

For Your covenant is sure, And on this I am secure—

I can stand on ev’ry promise of Your Word.

When I stumble and I sin, condemnation pressing in,

I will stand on ev’ry promise of Your Word.

You are faithful to forgive that in freedom I might live,

So I stand on ev’ry promise of Your Word.

Guilt to innocence restored, You remember sins no more—

So I’ll stand on ev’ry promise of Your Word.

When I’m faced with anguished choice, I will listen for Your voice,

And I’ll stand on ev’ry promise of Your Word.

Through this dark and troubled land You will guide me with Your hand

As I stand on ev’ry promise of Your Word.

And You’ve promised to complete, Ev’ry work begun in me—

So I’ll stand on ev’ry promise of Your Word.

Hope that lifts me from despair, love that casts out ev’ry fear,

As I stand on ev’ry promise of Your Word.

Not forsaken, not alone, for the Comforter has come,

And I stand on ev’ry promise of Your Word.

Grace sufficient, grace for me, Grace for all who will believe—

We will stand on ev’ry promise of Your Word.

    I Run to Christ

    Verse 1

I run to Christ when chased by fear and find a refuge sure.

“Believe in me,” His voice I hear, His words and wounds secure.

I run to Christ when torn by grief and find abundant peace.

“I, too, had tears,” He gently speaks; Thus, joy and sorrow meet.

    Verse 2

I run to Christ when worn by life and find my soul refreshed.

“Come unto me,” He calls through strife; fatigue gives way to rest.

I run to Christ when vexed by hell and find a mighty arm.

“The Devil flees,” the Scriptures tell; He roars, but cannot harm.

    Verse 3

I run to Christ when stalked by sin and find a sure escape.

“Deliver me,” I cry to Him. Temptation yields to grace.

I run to Christ when plagued by shame and find my one defense.

“I bore God’s wrath,” He pleads my case, My Advocate and Friend.
