    Responsive Reading

Leader:         As the time approached for Him to be taken up to heaven,
Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.  As He went along,
people spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.

When He came near the place where the road goes down
the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen:

Everyone:   “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!”

Leader:         The crowds that went ahead of Him and those that followed
    shouted:

Everyone:   “Hosanna to the Son of David!  Blessed is He who comes in
the name of the Lord!  Hosanna in the highest!”

Hosanna to the Son of David

    1. Hosanna to the Son of David! Hosanna to God’s mighty One!

Hosanna, wave your palms as banners,

in Him the vict’ry shall be won.

Refrain:     Hosanna! Hosanna! The Messiah comes this way.

Hosanna! Hosanna! His kingdom comes today.

    1. Hosanna to the King of Israel! He comes to set His people free.

Hosanna to the royal Savior, the bearer of our destiny.   (Refrain)

    1. Like David, He rides on a donkey, recalling the anointed King.

The crowds spread garments down before Him,

with shouts of joy His praises sing!                         (Refrain)

    1. Lord Jesus you did cleanse the Temple.

Lord cleanse our hearts and minds this day.

Then fill us with your Holy Spirit,

your kingdom build in us we pray.                          (Refrain)

    Prayer of Invocation

    We Will Glorify

We will glorify the King of kings; We will glorify the Lamb.

We will glorify the Lord of lords, Who is the great “I Am”.

Lord Jehovah reigns in majesty; We will bow before His throne.

We will worship Him in righteousness, We will worship Him alone.

He is Lord of heaven, Lord of earth; He is Lord of all who live.

He is Lord above the universe; All praise to Him we give.

Hallelujah to the King of kings;  Hallelujah to the Lamb.

Hallelujah to the Lord of lords, Who is the great “I Am”

    Declaring What We Believe:

    The Nicene Creed

    All:

We believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.

    Men & Boys:

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only Son of God,

begotten from the Father before all ages,

God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God,

begotten, not made; of the same essence as the Father.

    Women & Girls

Through him all things were made.

    For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven;

he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,

    and was made man.

    Jubilee Singers

    He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;

    he suffered and was buried.

    Women & Girls:

The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.

He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.

    Men & Boys:

He will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead.

    His kingdom will never end.

    All:

And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life.

He proceeds from the Father and the Son,

and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.

    He spoke through the prophets.

We believe in one holy universal and apostolic church.

We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,

and to life in the world to come.

    Amen.

    We Respond to God’s Presence

    Lamb of God

Your only son, no sin to hide,

But You have sent Him from Your side

To walk upon this guilty sod,

And to become the Lamb of God.

    Refrain:    O Lamb of God, sweet Lamb of God;

I love the holy Lamb of God.

O wash me in His precious blood.

My Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God.

Your gift of love they crucified,

    They laughed and scorned Him as He died;

The humble King they named a fraud,

And sacrificed the Lamb of God.

    Repeat Refrain

I was so lost I should have died,

But You have brought me to Your side

To be led by Your staff and rod,

And to be called a lamb of God.

    O Lamb of God, sweet Lamb of God;

I love the holy Lamb of God.

O wash me in His precious blood

Till I am just a lamb of God.

    Worthy Is The Lamb

    Worthy is the Lamb that was slain;

Worthy is the Lamb that was slain.

Worthy is the Lamb that was slain, to receive

Power and riches and wisdom and strength,

    Honor and glory and blessing!

Worthy is the Lamb, Worthy is the Lamb,

Worthy is the Lamb that was slain. Worthy is the Lamb!

    Behold the Lamb

Behold the Lamb, behold the Lamb,

Slain from the foundation of the world.

For sinners crucified, O holy sacrifice,

Behold the Lamb of God, behold the Lamb.

Crown Him, crown Him, Worthy is the Lamb.

Praise Him, praise Him, Heaven and Earth resound.

Behold the Lamb, behold the lamb,

Slain from the foundation of the world.

For sinners crucified, O holy sacrifice,

Behold the Lamb of God, behold the Lamb.

    Children’s Sermon Song:

    Rolled Away

Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away,

ev’ry burden of my heart rolled away.

Rolled away rolled away, rolled away,

ev’ry burden of my heart rolled away.

Ev’ry sin had to go ‘neath the crimson flow, hallelujah!

Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away,

ev’ry burden of my heart rolled away!

    Sermon Hymn:

    Beneath the Cross

    1. Beneath the cross of Jesus I find a place to stand,

And wonder at such mercy that calls me as I am.

For hands that should discard me hold wounds which tell me come.

Beneath the cross of Jesus my unworthy soul is won.

    1. Beneath the cross of Jesus, His family is my own.

Once strangers chasing selfish dreams; Now, one through grace alone.

How could I now dishonor the ones that You have loved?

Beneath the cross of Jesus, see the children called by God.

    1. Beneath the cross of Jesus, the path before the crown,

We follow in His footsteps where promised hope is found.

How great the joy before us to be His perfect bride.

Beneath the cross of Jesus, we will gladly live our lives.
