    Your Hand, O God, Has Guided

    1. Your hand, O God, has guided Your church from age to age;

    The tale of love is written for us on every page.

    Our fathers knew Your goodness and we Your works record;

    And each of these bear witness; One church, one faith, one Lord.

    Refrain:       One church, one faith, one Lord of life;

    One Father, one Spirit, one Christ.

    One church, one faith, one Lord of life;

    One Heavenly King, Lord of all.

    1. Your mercy never fails us, or leaves Your work undone;

    With Your right hand to help us, the victory shall be won.

    And then, by all creation, Your Name shall be adored;

    With earth and Heaven singing: One church, one faith, one Lord.

    Repeat Refrain

    Call To Worship

    Scripture Reading:                                             I Corinthians 15:54-58

    54 When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:

    “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

    55     “O death, where is your victory?

    O death, where is your sting?”

    56 The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.

    57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

    58 Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.

    Prayer of Invocation

    Declaring What We Believe

    The Apostle’s Creed

    I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

    And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord;

    Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the virgin Mary;

    Suffered under Pontius Pilate;

    Was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell;

    The third day He rose again from the dead;

    He ascended into heaven,

    And sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;

    From whence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

    I believe in the Holy Ghost;

    The holy universal church; The communion of saints;

    The forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the body;

    And the life everlasting. Amen.

    We Respond to God’s Presence

    See, What a Morning

    (Resurrection Hymn)

    1. See, what a morning, gloriously bright,

    with the dawning of hope in Jerusalem;

    Folded the grave-clothes, tomb filled with light,

    as the angels announce “Christ is risen!”

    See God’s salvation plan,

    wrought in love, borne in pain, paid in sacrifice,

    Fulfilled in Christ, the Man, for He lives:

    Christ is risen from the dead.

    1. See Mary weeping, “Where is He laid?”

    As in sorrow she turns from the empty tomb.

    Hears a voice speaking, calling her name;

    It’s the Master, the Lord, raised to life—again!

    The voice that spans the years, speaking life,

    Stirring hope, bringing peace to us,

    Will sound ’til He appears, for He lives:

    Christ is risen from the dead.

    1. One with the Father, Ancient of Days,

    through the Spirit who clothes faith with certainty.

    Honour and blessing, glory and praise

    To the King crowned with power and authority.

    And we are raised with Him; Death is dead,

    Love has won, Christ has conquered.

    And we shall reign with Him, for He lives:

    Christ is risen from the dead

    My Hope Rests Firm

    1. My hope rests firm on Jesus Christ, He is my only plea.

    Though all the world should point and scorn,

    His ransom leaves me free, His ransom leaves me free.

    1. My hope sustains me as I strive and strain towards the goal;

    Though still I stumble into sin,

    His death paid for it all, His death paid for it all.

    1. My hope provides me with a spur to help me run this race:

    I know my tears will turn to joy the day I see His face,

    The day I see His face.

    1. My hope is to be with my Lord, to know as I am known;

    To serve Him gladly all my days in praise before His throne,

    In praise before His throne.

    Yet Not I, But Through Christ in Me

    1. What gift of grace is Jesus my Redeemer.

    There is no more for heaven now to give.

    He is my joy, my righteousness and freedom,

    My steadfast love, my deep and boundless peace.

    To this I hold: my hope is only Jesus,

    For my life is wholly bound to His.

    Oh, how strange and divine, I can sing: All is mine!

    Yet not I, but through Christ in me.

    1. The night is dark, but I am not forsaken,

    For by my side the Savior--He will stay.

    I labor on in weakness and rejoicing,

    For in my need, His power is displayed.

    To this I hold: my Shepherd will defend me.

    Through the deepest valley, He will lead.

    Oh, the night has been won and I shall overcome!

    Yet not I, but through Christ in me.

    1. No fate I dread, I know I am forgiven.

    The future sure, the price--it has been paid.

    For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon,

    And He was raised to overthrow the grave.

    To this I hold: my sin has been defeated.

    Jesus now and ever is my plea.

    Oh, the chains are released, I can sing--I am free!

    Yet not I, but through Christ in me.

    1. With every breath, I long to follow Jesus,

    For He has said that He will bring me home.

    And day by day, I know He will renew me

    Until I stand with joy before the throne.

    To this I hold: my hope is only Jesus.

    All the glory evermore to Him.

    When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat:

    Yet not I, but through Christ in me.

    1. To this I hold: my hope is only Jesus.

    All glory evermore to Him.

    When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat:
