    Welcome and Announcements

    Gathering the Family Together

    Alleluia! Sing to Jesus

    Alleluia! Sing to Jesus! His the scepter, His the throne.

    Alleluia! His the triumph, His the victory alone.

    Hark! The songs of peaceful Zion thunder like a mighty flood.

    Jesus, out of every nation, has redeemed us by His blood.

    Alleluia! Not as orphans are we left in sorrow now;

    Alleluia! He is near us, faith believes, nor questions how;

    Though the cloud from sight received Him

    when the forty days were o'er,

    Shall our hearts forget His promise, “I am with you evermore”?

    Alleluia! Bread of angels, Thou on earth our food, our stay;

    Alleluia! Here the sinful flee to Thee from day to day:

    Intercessor, Friend of sinners, Earth’s Redeemer, plead for me,

    Where the songs of all the sinless sweep across the crystal sea.

    Alleluia! Heavenly High Priest, here on earth our help, our stay;

    Alleluia! Hear the sinful cry to you from day to day.

    Intercessor, friend of sinners, earth’s Redeemer, hear our plea,

    Where the songs of all the sinless sweep across the crystal sea.

    Alleluia! King eternal, you the Lord of lords we own:

    Alleluia! born of Mary, earth your footstool, heaven your throne:

    You within the veil have entered, robed in flesh, our great High Priest:

    by your Spirit, left us heavenward, in the Eucharistic feast!

    Call To Worship

    Scripture Reading:                                        Hebrews 4:15-16; 7:23-28

    15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin.

    16 Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

    23 The former priests were many in number, because they were prevented by death from continuing in office,

    24 but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues forever.

    25 Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.

    26 For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.

    27 He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself.

    28 For the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect forever.

    Prayer of Invocation

    Declaring What We Believe:

    Reformation Hymn

    1. We will trust God’s Word alone, where His perfect will is known;

    Our traditions shift like sand while His Truth forever stands.

    We will live by faith alone, clothed in merit not our own;

    All we claim is Jesus Christ and His finished sacrifice.

    Chorus:      Glory be, glory be to God alone

    Through the church He redeemed and made His own;

    He has freed us, He will keep us till we’re safely home;

    Glory be, glory be to God alone!

    1. We are saved by grace alone, undeserved, yet freely shown;

    No accomplishment on earth can achieve the second birth.

    We will stand on Christ alone, the unyielding Cornerstone;

    Nations rage and devils roar, still He reigns forevermore!

    Chorus:      Glory be, glory be to God alone

    Through the church He redeemed and made His own;

    He has freed us, He will keep us till we’re safely home;

    Glory be, glory be to God alone!

    He has freed us, He will keep us till we’re safely home;

    Glory be, glory be to God alone!

    We Respond to God’s Presence

    Is He Worthy?

    Verse 1:

    Do you feel the world is broken?                               (We do)

    Do you feel the shadows deepen?                              (We do)

    But do you know that all the dark won’t stop

    the light from getting through?                       (We do)

    Do you wish that you could see it all made new?      (We do)

    Verse 2:

    Is all creation groaning?                                             (It is)

    Is a new creation coming?                                          (It is)

    Is the glory of the Lord to be the light within our midst?   (It is)

    Is it good that we remind ourselves of this?               (It is)

    Chorus:

    Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole?

    Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?

    The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave

    He is David’s root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave

    Is He worthy? Is He worthy?

    Of all blessing and honor and glory

    Is He worthy of this?  He is

    Verse 3:

    Does the Father truly love us?                                    (He does)

    Does the Spirit move among us?                                (He does)

    And does Jesus our Messiah hold forever those He loves?   (He does)

    Does our God intend to dwell again with us?            (He does)

    Chorus 2:

    Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole?

    Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?

    The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave

    He is David’s root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave

    From every people and tribe, Every nation and tongue

    He has made us a kingdom and priests to God to reign with the Son

    Is He worthy? Is He worthy?

    Of all blessing and honor and glory

    Is He worthy? Is He worthy? Is He worthy of this?

    Ending:

    He is! He is!

    He is worthy! He is worthy!

    He is! He is!

    He is worthy! He is worthy!

    He is!

  • Children’s Sermon Song:

    Rolled Away

    Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away,

    ev’ry burden of my heart rolled away.

    Rolled away rolled away, rolled away,

    ev’ry burden of my heart rolled away.

    Ev’ry sin had to go ‘neath the crimson flow, hallelujah!

    Rolled away, rolled away, rolled away,

    ev’ry burden of my heart rolled away!

    Sermon Hymn:

    Before the Throne

    Before the throne of God above

    I have a strong and perfect plea.

    A great High Priest whose name is “love,”

    Who ever lives and pleads for me.

    My name is graven on His hands.

    My name is written on His heart.

    I know that while in heaven He stands

    No tongue can bid me thence depart.

    No tongue can bid me thence depart.

    When Satan tempts me to despair,

    And tells me of the guilt within.

    Upward I look and see Him there,

    Who made an end of all my sin.

    Because the sinless Savior died,

    My sinful soul is counted free;

    For God, the Just, is satisfied

    To look on Him and pardon me,

    To look on Him and pardon me.

    Behold Him there! The Risen Lamb,

    My perfect spotless Righteousness;

    The great unchangeable I AM,

    The King of Glory and of Grace!

    One with Himself, I cannot die,

    My soul is purchased by His blood;

    My life is hid with Christ on high,

    With Christ my Savior and my God,

    With Christ my Savior and my God.

    Sharing of the Elements

    We invite to the Lord’s Table all those who are baptized disciples of Jesus Christ and are under the authority of Christ and His body, the Church. By eating the bread and drinking the wine with us as a visitor, you are acknowledging to the elders of this local church that you are in covenant with God and an active member of a congregation in which the gospel is faithfully confessed, taught, and believed. You also acknowledge that you are a sinner, without hope except in the sovereign mercy of God, and that you are trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. If you have any doubt about your participation, please speak to the elders before or after the service.

    We Are Sent Forth in Worship

    to Share the Gospel

    Join All the Glorious Names

    Join all the glorious names of wisdom, love, and power,

    That ever mortals knew, That angels ever bore:

    All are too poor to speak His worth, Too poor to set my Savior forth.

    Great prophet of my God, my tongue would bless Thy name,

    By Thee the joyful news of our salvation came,

    The joyful news of sin forgiv’n

    Of hell subdued, and peace with Heav’n.

    Jesus, my great high priest, offered His blood, and died;

    My guilty conscience seeks no sacrifice beside:

    His powerful blood did once atone, And now it pleads before the throne.

    My Savior and my Lord, my conqueror and my King,

    Thy scepter and Thy sword, Thy reigning grace I sing:

    Thine is the power; behold I sit In willing bonds beneath Thy feet.

    Benediction
