Gathering the Family Together
O Church, Arise
O Church, arise, and put your armor on;
hear the call of Christ our Captain.
For now the weak can say that they are strong
in the strength that God has given.
With a shield of faith and belt of Truth,
we’ll stand against the devil’s lies;
And army bold, whose battle cry is love,
reaching out to those in darkness.
Our call to war to love the captive soul,
but to rage against the captor;
And with the sword that makes the wounded whole,
we will fight with faith and valor.
When faced with trials on every side,
we know the outcome is secure,
And Christ will have the prize for which He died
– an inheritance of nations.
Come see the cross, where love and mercy meet,
as the Son of God is stricken;
Then see His foes lie crushed beneath His feet,
for the Conqueror has risen!
And as the stone is rolled away
and Christ emerges from the grave,
This victory march continues till the day
every eye and heart shall see Him.
So Spirit come, put strength in every stride,
give grace for every hurdle,
That we may run with faith to win the prize
of a servant good and faithful.
As saints of old still line the way,
retelling triumphs of His grace,
We hear their calls and hunger for the day
when with Christ we stand in Glory.

Call To Worship
Scripture Reading: Matthew 17:1-8
1 And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves.
2 And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.
3 And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him.
4 And Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good that we are here. If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah.”
5 He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”
6 When the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces and were terrified.
7 But Jesus came and touched them, saying, “Rise, and have no fear.”
8 And when they lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only.
Prayer of Invocation
Declaring What We Believe
In Christ Alone
In Christ alone my hope is found,
He is my light, my strength, my song.
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease.
My Comforter, my All in All,
Here in the love of Christ I stand.
In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This Gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live.
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain.
Then bursting forth in glorious day
Up from the grave He rose again.
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me.
For I am His and He is mine,
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.
No guilt in life no fear in death.
This is the power of Christ in me.
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of Hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand.
‘Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I stand.

We Respond to God’s Presence
My Life Is In You, Lord
My life is in You, Lord, my strength is in You, Lord,
My hope is in You, Lord, in You, it’s in You.
My life is in You, Lord, my strength is in You, Lord,
My hope is in You, Lord, in You, it’s in You.
I will praise You with all of my life
I will praise You with all of my strength;
With all of my life, with all of my strength,
All of my hope is in You! (Repeat beginning.)

Wonderful, Merciful Savior
Wonderful, merciful savior, precious Redeemer and Friend;
Who would have thought that a Lamb could rescue the souls of men?
Oh, You rescue the souls of men.
Refrain:
You are the One that we praise, You are the One we adore,
You give the healing and grace our hearts always hunger for,
Oh, our hearts always hunger for.
Counselor, Comforter, Keeper, Spirit we long to embrace:
You offer hope when our hearts have hopelessly lost the way,
Oh, we hopelessly lost the way. (Repeat Refrain)
Almighty, infinite Father, faithfully loving Your own:
Here in our weakness You find us falling before Your throne,
Oh, we’re falling before Your throne. (Repeat Refrain)

Oh Love That Will Not Let Me Go
- O Love that will not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in thee;
I give thee back the life I owe,
That in thine ocean depths its flow
May richer, fuller be.
- O light that followest all my way,
I yield my flickering torch to thee;
My heart restores its borrowed ray,
That in thy sunshine’s blaze its day
May brighter, fairer be.
- O Joy that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain,
That morn shall tearless be.
- O Cross that liftest up my head,
I dare not ask to fly from thee;
I lay in dust life’s glory dead,
And from the ground there blossoms red
Life that shall endless be.

The Lord’s Prayer Song
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, Hallowed be Thy name.
On earth as it is in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy name.
And give us this day our daily bread, Hallowed be Thy name.
Forgive us our trespasses, Hallowed be Thy name.
As we forgive those who trespass against us, Hallowed be Thy name.
And lead us not into temptation, Hallowed be Thy name.
But deliver us from all evil, Hallowed be Thy name.
For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory,
Hallowed be Thy name.
Forever, and ever and ever and ever, Hallowed be Thy name.
A-----men. A-----men.

nor trials in the present, nor any trial to come;
neither height nor depth, nor all of creation
