    Scripture Reading:

    Psalm 16

    1 Keep me, God, for in you have I found refuge.

    2 I have said to the Lord, ‘You are my Lord;
    from you alone comes the good I enjoy.

    3 All my delight is in the noble ones, the godly in the land.

    4 Those who run after other gods find endless trouble;
    I shall never offer libations of blood to such gods,
    never take their names on my lips.

    5 Lord, you are my allotted portion and my cup;
    you maintain my boundaries:

    6 the lines fall for me in pleasant places;
    I am well content with my inheritance.’

    7 I shall bless the Lord who has given me counsel;
    in the night he imparts wisdom to my inmost being.

    8 I have set the Lord before me at all times:
    with him at my right hand I cannot be shaken.

    9 Therefore my heart is glad and my spirit rejoices,
    my body too rests unafraid;

    10 for you will not abandon me to Sheol
    or suffer your faithful servant to see the pit.

    11 You will show me the path of life;
    in your presence is the fullness of joy,
    at your right hand are pleasures for evermore.

    (The Revised English Bible)

    Prayer of Invocation

    Whoever Fears the Lord

    Whoever fears the Lord and lives as God intends

    Will find the whole of life is filled with gifts he sends.

    When work is more than toil and reaps a just reward,

    When strength and health are ours, all these are from the Lord!

    We celebrate the joys of home and family,

    Where love’s enduring bonds provide security.

    God nurtures every child for life’s demanding race;

    Each day he offers us new fruitfulness, new grace.

    His kindness is revealed where bitter conflicts cease;

    Far more, within our hearts, his mercy brings us peace.

    May God prolong our days to see our children’s heirs,

    And may his gracious gifts be ours and also theirs.

    Children’s Sermon

    We Respond to God’s Presence

    Jesus, Your Name

    Jesus, Your name, Prince of Peace; Quiets my soul, treasures the least.

    In perfect rest You will keep all whose hope is in You.

    Jesus, Your name can silence the storms;

    the strivings that trouble our world.

    Jesus, Your name reveals You as Lord; Oh powerful name!

    Jesus, Your name, Counsellor; Wonderful Way, Life’s Comforter.

    Spirit of Truth defending me, though in me was the blame.

    Jesus, Your name has stood in my place

    and freed me from hopeless shame.

    Jesus, Your name now father’s me; With joy I bear His name.

    Jesus, Your name, Mighty God; All Powerful One, ruling in love.

    There is a King upon the throne earth cannot overthrow.

    Jesus, Your name, great banner of hope; Steadies the knees of the weak.

    Jesus, the name all nations will praise; Oh, glorious name.

    Let the Earth Resound

    1. Let the earth resound with songs of praise

    to the Father’s power and love;

    For the One who set each star in place chose to set His heart on us.

    To the One whose might gives victory, yet whose mercies never cease;

    As the tapestry of history tells the story of His grace.

    Chorus:

    King Immortal Faithful God; Crowned with splendour, rich in love.

    Let the heavens and the earth resound with songs of praise to You.

    1. Let the earth be stilled before the sight of a Father’s sacrifice

    That revealed the depths of love divine in the face of Jesus Christ.

    Through a life of full obedience and a death in agony,

    He removed the rebel’s punishment and He set the pris’ner free.

    Repeat Chorus

    1. Let the earth resound with songs of faith at the wonder yet to come,

    When all sin and pain are put to death

    and the Church and Christ are one.

    When we stand as God’s great family and we meet the Father’s gaze,

    And share in His eternal joy as we join in ceaseless praise.

    Repeat Chorus
