    Call To Worship

    Scripture Reading:                                                     I Peter 2:1-3, 9-12

    1 So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.

    2 Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation—

    3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good…

    9 … you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

    10 Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

    11 Beloved, I urge you as sojourners and exiles to abstain from the passions of the flesh, which wage war against your soul.

    12 Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.

    Prayer of Invocation

    Declaring What We Believe

    We Are Your Church

    God has built His church on one foundation—

    Jesus Christ, the Living Cornerstone.

    Crucified and risen to redeem us,

    We adore and worship Him alone.

    Refrain:

    We are Your church, Your bride, the people of Your name.

    In Your strength we live; we worship, unashamed,

    For Your cause we serve; We joyfully proclaim we are Your people;

    We are Your church.

    Set apart to serve our loving Savior,

    given power to share redemption’s plan—

    We will tell the world the love of Jesus;

    we will preach the cross to every land.          (Repeat Refrain)

    With a shout, the Bridegroom is returning.

    Heaven’s Prince will come to claim His own.

    We will rise to reign with Him forever;

    We will sing our praise around His throne.    (Repeat Refrain)

    We Respond to God’s Presence

    Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing

    Come, Thou Fount of ev’ry blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace;

    Streams of mercy, never ceasing call for songs of loudest praise;

    Teach me some melodious sonnet sung by flaming tongues above;

    Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it, mount of God’s unchanging love.

    Here I raise my Ebenezer; hither by thy help I’m come;

    And I hope by thy good pleasure safely to arrive at home.

    Jesus sought me when a stranger, wand’ring from the fold of God:

    He to rescue me from danger, interposed his precious blood.

    O to grace, how great a debtor, daily I’m constrained to be.

    Let that grace now like a fetter bind my wand’ring heart to thee.

    Prone to wander Lord, I feel it; prone to leave the God I love;

    Here’s my heart, O, take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above.

    O that day when freed from sinning, I shall see thy lovely face;

    Full arrayed in blood-washed linen how I’ll sing thy sov’reign grace;

    Come, my Lord, no longer tarry, bring thy promises to pass

    For I know thy pow’r will keep me ‘til I’m home with thee at last.

  • Oh, for a Thousand Tongues to Sing

    1. Oh, for a thousand tongues to sing my great Redeemer’s praise,

    The glories of my God and King, the triumphs of his grace!

    1. My gracious Master and my God, assist me to proclaim,

    To spread through all the earth abroad the honors of your name.

    1. The name of Jesus charms our fears and bids our sorrows cease;

    ‘Tis music in the sinner’s ears, ‘tis life and health and peace.

    1. He breaks the power of canceled sin, he sets the prisoner free;

    His blood can make the foulest clean; his blood availed for me.

    1. He speaks, and, listening to his voice, new life the dead receive;

    The mournful, broken hearts rejoice; the humble poor believe.

    1. Look unto him, your Savior own, O fallen human race!

    Look and be saved through faith alone, be justified by grace!

    1. Hear him, you deaf; your voiceless ones,

    your loosened tongues employ;

    You blind, behold your Savior come; and leap, you lame, for joy!

    1. To God all glory, praise, and love be now and ever given

    By saints below and saints above, the church in earth and heaven.

    We Worship Through Hearing

    Sermon Hymn:

    Through the Red Sea

    1.Through the Red Sea brought at last, alleluia!

    Egypt’s chains behind we cast, alleluia!

    Deep and wide flows the tide severing us from bondage past, alleluia!

    2.Like that cloud that overhead, alleluia!

    Through the billows Israel led, alleluia!

    By his tomb Christ makes room souls restoring from the dead, alleluia!

    3.In that cloud and in that sea, alleluia!

    Buried and baptized were we, alleluia!

    Earthly night brought us light, which is ours eternally, alleluia!

    to Share the Gospel

    O God, My Joy

    O God, my joy, You reign above in radiant splendor and beauty.

    Your word has drawn my heart to love the awesome sight of Your glory.

    Your blazing light and gospel grace

    shine brightly from my Savior’s face.

    No other wonder would I see than Christ enthroned in His glory!

    Sustained by joy in trial and pain, I trust Your wisdom and mercy.

    Through suffering that Your love ordains,

    more like Your Son You will make me.

    For Christ embraced the cross of shame,

    beholding glorious joys to come.

    O give me faith like His to see that suffering lifts me to glory!

    Compelled by joy, I fight the sin that turns my gaze from Your glory.

    Your Holy Spirit dwells within: His presence arms me for vict’ry.

    Let death and hell against me rise; through death I’ll gain eternal joys.

    All powers of hell will bend the knee before my great King of glory!
