Blessed Be the God of Israel

1. Blessed be the God of Israel, who comes to set us free

And raises up new hope for us, a Branch from David’s tree.

So have the prophets long declared that with a mighty arm

God would turn back our enemies and all who wish us harm.

2. With promised mercy will God still the covenant recall,

The oath once sworn to Abraham, from foes to save us all,

That we might worship without fear and offer lives of praise,

In holiness and righteousness to serve God all our days.

And Joshua said:

¹⁴ “Now therefore fear the LORD and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness. Put away the gods that your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD.

¹⁵ And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

There is a Higher Throne

1. There is a higher throne than all this world has known,

Where faithful ones from ev’ry tongue will one day come.

Before the Son we’ll stand, made faultless through the Lamb;

Believing hearts find promised grace; Salvation comes.
