    Only A Holy God

    Verse 1:

    Who else commands all the hosts of heaven?

    Who else could make every king bow down?

    Who else can whisper and darkness trembles?

    Only a Holy God!

    Verse 2:

    What other beauty demands such praises?

    What other splendor outshines the sun?

    What other majesty rules with justice?

    Only a Holy God!

    Chorus:

    Come and behold Him,

    The One and the Only.

    Cry out, sing holy,

    Forever a Holy God;

    Come and worship the Holy God!

    Verse 3:

    What other glory consumes like fire?

    What other power can raise the dead?

    What other name remains undefeated?

    Only a Holy God!

    Repeat Chorus

    Verse 4:

    Who else could rescue me from my failing?

    Who else would offer His only Son?

    Who else invites me to call Him Father?

    Only a Holy God!

    Repeat Chorus

    Scripture Reading:                                                    Matthew 20:20-28

    20 Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came up to him with her sons, and kneeling before him she asked him for something.

    21 And he said to her, “What do you want?” She said to him, “Say that these two sons of mine are to sit, one at your right hand and one at your left, in your kingdom.”

    22 Jesus answered, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am to drink?” They said to him, “We are able.”

    23 He said to them, “You will drink my cup, but to sit at my right hand and at my left is not mine to grant, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by my Father.”

    24 And when the ten heard it, they were indignant at the two brothers.

    25 But Jesus called them to him and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them.

    26 It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,

    27 and whoever would be first among you must be your slave,

    28 even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

    Declaring What We Believe

    Westminster Confession of Faith

    13 – Of Sanctification

    I. They, who are once effectually called, and regenerated, having a new heart, and a new spirit created in them, are further sanctified, really and personally, through the virtue of Christ’s death and resurrection, by His Word and Spirit dwelling in them: the dominion of the whole body of sin is destroyed, and the several lusts thereof are more and more weakened and mortified; and they more and more quickened and strengthened in all saving graces, to the practice of true holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.

    II. This sanctification is throughout, in the whole man; yet imperfect in this life, there abiding still some remnants of corruption in every part; whence arises a continual and irreconcilable war, the flesh lusting against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh.

    III. In which war, although the remaining corruption, for a time, may much prevail; yet, through the continual supply of strength from the sanctifying Spirit of Christ, the regenerate part does overcome; and so, the saints grow in grace, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

    We Respond to God’s Presence

    We Are Your Church

    God has built His church on one foundation—

    Jesus Christ, the Living Cornerstone.

    Crucified and risen to redeem us,

    We adore and worship Him alone.

    Refrain:

    We are Your church, Your bride, the people of Your name.

    In Your strength we live; we worship, unashamed,

    For Your cause we serve; We joyfully proclaim we are Your people;

    We are Your church.

    Set apart to serve our loving Savior,

    given power to share redemption’s plan—

    We will tell the world the love of Jesus;

    we will preach the cross to every land.          (Repeat Refrain)

    With a shout, the Bridegroom is returning.

    Heaven’s Prince will come to claim His own.

    We will rise to reign with Him forever;

    We will sing our praise around His throne.    (Repeat Refrain)

  • His Mercy Is More

    Refrain:           Praise the Lord! His mercy is more.

    Stronger than darkness, new every morn;

    Our sins they are many, His mercy is more.

    1. What love could remember no wrongs we have done;

    Omniscient, all knowing, He counts not their sum.

    Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore;

    Our sins they are many, His mercy is more.

    Refrain:     Praise the Lord! His mercy is more.

    Stronger than darkness, new every morn;

    Our sins they are many, His mercy is more.

    1. What patience would wait as we constantly roam;

    What Father, so tender, is calling us home.

    He welcomes the weakest, the vilest, the poor.

    Our sins they are many, His mercy is more.

    Refrain:     Praise the Lord! His mercy is more.

    Stronger than darkness, new every morn;

    Our sins they are many, His mercy is more.

    1. What riches of kindness He lavished on us;

    His blood was the payment, His life was the cost.

    We stood ‘neath a debt we could never afford;

    Our sins they are many, His mercy is more.

    Refrain:     Praise the Lord! His mercy is more.

    Stronger than darkness, new every morn;

    Our sins they are many, His mercy is more.

    Praise the Lord! His mercy is more.

    Stronger than darkness, new every morn;

    Our sins they are many, His mercy is more.

    Speak, O Lord

    1       Speak, O Lord, as we come to You

    To receive the food of Your Holy Word.

    Take Your truth, plant it deep in us;

    Shape and fashion us in Your likeness,

    That the light of Christ might be seen today

    In our acts of love and our deeds of faith.

    Speak, O Lord, and fulfill in us

    All Your purposes for Your glory.

    2       Teach us, Lord, full obedience,

    Holy reverence, true humility;

    Test our thoughts and our attitudes

    In the radiance of Your purity.

    Cause our faith to rise; cause our eyes to see

    Your majestic love and authority.

    Words of pow'r that can never fail—

    Let their truth prevail over unbelief.

    1. Speak, O Lord, and renew our minds;

    Help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us—

    Truths unchanged from the dawn of time

    That will echo down through eternity.

    And by grace we'll stand on Your promises,

    And by faith we'll walk as You walk with us.

    Speak, O Lord, till Your church is built

    And the earth is filled with Your glory.

    Sharing of the Elements

    We invite to the Lord’s Table all those who are baptized disciples of Jesus Christ and are under the authority of Christ and His body, the Church. By eating the bread and drinking the wine with us as a visitor, you are acknowledging to the elders of this local church that you are in covenant with God and an active member of a congregation in which the gospel is faithfully confessed, taught, and believed. You also acknowledge that you are a sinner, without hope except in the sovereign mercy of God, and that you are trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. If you have any doubt about your participation, please speak to the elders before or after the service.

    Make Me a Servant

    Make me a servant, humble and meek,

    Lord, let me lift up those who are weak,

    And may the prayer of my heart always be;

    Make me a servant, make me a servant,

    Make me a servant today.
