    Welcome

    Gathering the Family Together

    Sing to the King

Verse 1             Sing to the King who is coming to reign.

Glory to Jesus, the Lamb that was slain.

Life and salvation his empire shall bring,

and joy to the nations when Jesus is King.

    (Repeat Verse 1)

Refrain:            Come, let us sing a song, a song declaring

that we belong to Jesus; he is all we need.

Lift up a heart of praise.

Sing now with voices raised to Jesus,

    sing to the King.

    Verse 2             For his returning, we watch and we pray;

We will be ready the dawn of that day.

We’ll join in singing with all the redeemed,

Cause Satan is vanquished and Jesus is King.

    (Repeat Refrain 2 times)

    Call To Worship

    Scripture Reading:                                                           Colossians 2:9-14

9 For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily,

10 and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.

11 In him also you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,

12 having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through faith in the powerful working of God, who raised him from the dead.

13 And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses,

14 by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.

15 He disarmed the rulers and authorities and put them to open shame, by triumphing over them in him.

    Prayer of Invocation

    Declaring What We Believe

    Come Praise and Glorify

    (Based on Ephesians 1)

Come praise and glorify our God, the Father of our Lord

In Christ He has in heav’nly realms His blessings on us poured

For pure and blameless in His sight He destined us to be

And now we’ve been adopted through His Son eternally

Refrain:         To the praise of Your glory,

To the praise of Your mercy and grace

To the praise of Your glory

You are the God who saves

Come praise and glorify our God Who gives His grace in Christ

In Him our sins are washed away redeemed through sacrifice

In Him God has made known to us the myst’ry of His will

That Christ should be the head of all His purpose to fulfill     (Refrain)

Come praise and glorify our God for we’ve believed the Word

And through our faith we have a seal the Spirit of the Lord

The Spirit guarantees our hope until redemption’s done

Until we join in endless praise to God, the Three in One

Repeat Refrain 2 times, adding at the end of the last repeat:

You are the God who saves

You are the God who saves

    We Respond to God’s Presence

    Nailed to the Cross

Verse 1:         When I stand accused by my regrets

And the devil roars his empty threats

I will preach the gospel to myself

That I am not a man condemned

For Jesus Christ is my defense

Chorus 1:      My sin is nailed to the cross

My soul is healed by the scars

The weight of guilt I bear no more

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord

Verse 2:         When my doubt and shame hang over me

Like the arrows of the enemy

I will run again to Calvary

That rugged hill of hell’s defeat

    My fortress and my victory

    Repeat Chorus 1

Chorus 2:      My sin is nailed to the cross

My soul is healed by the scars

    Now I’m alive forevermore

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord

Bridge:          It is finished, sin is vanquished

    Hallelujah, praise the Lord

All the glory, all the honor

To my Savior, Christ the Lord

    (Repeat Bridge)

Verse 3:         When I stand before the throne at last

His blood will plead my innocence

I will worship Him with holy hands

And raise the song that never ends

    Of Jesus Christ, my righteousness

    Repeat Chorus 1

Ending:          My sin is nailed to the cross

My soul is healed by the scars

    Now I’m alive forevermore

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord

Oh praise the Lord, praise the Lord

    Today’s Message

    “The Power to Forgive Sins”

    Luke 5:17-26

    Pastor Don Galardi

    Notes

    I. Introduction.

    II. Exposition

    III. Points for Reflection

    A. The concerned men brought the ill man to Jesus.

    B. The viewing of remarkable things did not convince many

    of Christ’s deity.

    C. God is in the lonely place. Make it your place, too.

    D. The man carried that which represented his infirmity.

We are enabled to do the same.

    E. “I am willing; Your sins are forgiven.”

V2-Jubilee Singers:   Elders , martyrs all are falling down.

Congregation:           God and man at table are sat down. (Repeat)

V4-Jubilee Singers:   Beggars, lame, and harlots also here,

    Repentant publicans are drawing near.

Wayward sons come home without a fear.

Congregation:           God and man at table are sat down. (Repeat)

V5-Congregation:     Worship in the presence of the Lord.

With joyful songs and hearts in one accord,

And let our Host at table be adored.

Congregation:           God and man at table are sat down. (Repeat)

    V6-Congregation:     When at last this earth shall pass away;

    When Jesus and His bride are one to stay;

The feast of love is just begun that day.

God and man at table are sat down.

God and man at table are sat down.

    Sharing of the Elements

We invite to the Lord’s Table all those who are baptized disciples of Jesus Christ and are under the authority of Christ and His body, the Church. By eating the bread and drinking the wine with us as a visitor, you are acknowledging to the elders of this local church that you are in covenant with God and an active member of a congregation in which the gospel is faithfully confessed, taught, and believed. You also acknowledge that you are a sinner, without hope except in the sovereign mercy of God, and that you are trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. If you have any doubt about your participation, please speak to the elders before or after the service.

    Declaration of Forgiveness

We Are Sent Forth in Worship

    to Share the Gospel

    I Cannot Tell

I cannot tell why He whom angels worship

Should set His love upon the sons of men,

Or why, as Shepherd, He should seek the wanderers

To bring them back, they know not how or when.

But this I know, that He was born of Mary

When Bethlehem’s manger was His only home,

And that He lived at Nazareth and labored,

And so the Savior, Savior of the world is come.

I cannot tell how silently He suffered

As with His peace He graced this place of tears,

Or how His heart upon the cross was broken,

The crown of pain to three and thirty years.

But this I know, He heals the broken hearted

And stays our sin and calms our lurking fear,

And lifts the burden from the heavy laden,

For yet the Savior, Savior of the world, is here.

I cannot tell how He will win the nations,

How He will claim His earthly heritage,

Or satisfy the needs and aspirations

Of east and west, of sinner and of sage.

But this I know, all flesh shall see His glory,

And He shall reap the harvest He has sown,

And some glad day His sun will shine in splendor

When He the Savior, Savior of the world, is known.

I cannot tell how all the lands shall worship

When at His bidding every storm is stilled,

Or who can say how great the jubilation

When all the hearts of men with love are filled.

But this I know, the skies will thrill with rapture,

And countless voices then will join to sing.

And earth to heaven, and heaven to earth will answer:

“At last the Savior, Savior of the world, is King!”
