Scripture Reading: Psalm 73:1-3, 16-17, 21-28
God Is My Strength and Portion Forever
1 Truly God is good to Israel,
to those who are pure in heart.2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled,
my steps had nearly slipped.3 For I was envious of the arrogant
when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.16 But when I thought how to understand this,
it seemed to me a wearisome task,17 until I went into the sanctuary of God;
then I discern.21 When my soul was embittered,
when I was pricked in heart,22 I was brutish and ignorant;
I was like a beast toward you, O LORD.23 Nevertheless, I am continually with you;
you hold my right hand.24 You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will receive me to glory.25 Whom have I in heaven but you?
And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.26 My flesh and my heart may fail,
but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.27 For behold, those who are far from you shall perish;
you put an end to everyone who is unfaithful to you.28 But for me it is good to be near God;
I have made the Lord God my refuge,
that I may tell of all your works.Prayer of Invocation
The General Confession
Almighty and most merciful Father,
we have erred, and strayed from Thy ways like lost sheep.
We have offended against Thy holy laws.
We have left undone those things which we ought to have done,
and we have done those things which we ought not to have done;
and there is no health in us.
O Lord, have mercy upon us miserable offenders.
Spare them, O Lord, which confess their faults.
Restore them that are penitent, according to Thy promises
declared unto mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
And grant, O most merciful Father, for His sake,
that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life –
to the glory of Thy holy name. Amen.

You Are My Hiding Place
You are my hiding place,
You always fill my heart with songs of deliverance,
Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.
I will trust in You
Let the weak say I am strong, in the strength of the Lord.

Jesus, Draw Me Ever Nearer
Jesus, draw me ever nearer, as I labor through the storm.
You have called me to this passage, and I’ll follow, though I’m worn.
May this journey bring a blessing, may I rise on wings of faith;
And at the end of my heart’s testing, with Your likeness let me wake.
Jesus, guide me through the tempest; Keep my spirit staid and sure.
When the midnight meets the morning, let me love You even more.
May this journey bring a blessing, may I rise on wings of faith;
And at the end of my heart’s testing, with Your likeness let me wake.
Let the treasures of the trial form within me as I go
And at the end of this long passage, let me leave them at Your throne.
May this journey bring a blessing, may I rise on wings of faith;
And at the end of my heart’s testing, with Your likeness let me wake.

How Deep the Father’s Love for Us
How deep the Father’s love for us, how vast beyond all measure,
That He should give His only Son to make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss, the Father turns His face away,
As wounds which mar the Chosen One bring many sons to glory.
Behold the man upon a cross, my sin upon His shoulders;
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life, I know that it is finished.
I will not boast in anything, no gifts, no pow’r, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward? I cannot give an answer,
But this I know with all my heart, His wounds have paid my ransom.

The Lord’s My Shepherd
Verse 1:
The Lord’s my shepherd, I’ll not want.
He makes me lie in pastures green.
He leads me by the still, still waters,
His goodness restores my soul.
Refrain:
And I will trust in you alone.
And I will trust in you alone,
For your endless mercy follows me,
Your goodness will lead me home.
Verse 2:
He guides my ways in righteousness,
And he anoints my head with oil,
And my cup, it overflows with joy,
I feast on his pure delights. Refrain
Verse 3:
And though I walk the darkest path,
I will not fear the evil one
For you are with me, and your rod and staff
Are the comfort I need to know. Refrain

Sermon Hymn:
Psalm 119:65-72 (Tet)
O LORD, my delight, my delight is in your law.
65 You have dealt well with your servant, *
O, Lord, according to your word.
66 Teach me good judgment and knowledge; *
for I believe in your commandments.
O LORD, my delight, my delight is in your law.
67 Before I was humbled I went astray, *
but now I keep your word.
68 You are good and do good; *
teach me your statutes.
O LORD, my delight, my delight is in your law.
69 The arrogant smear me with lies, *
but with my whole heart I keep your precepts.
70 Their hearts are fat and gross, *
but I delight in your law.
O LORD, my delight, my delight is in your law.
71 It is good for me that I was humbled, *
so that I might learn your statutes.
72 The law of your mouth is better to me *
than thousands of gold and silver pieces.
O LORD, my delight, my delight is in your law.

It Is Well with My Soul
- When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
Refrain:
It is well, (It is well,) with my soul, (with my soul,)
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
- Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul. (Repeat Refrain)
- My sin—oh, the bliss of this glorious thought—
My sin—not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! (Repeat Refrain)
- And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so—it is well with my soul. (Repeat Refrain)
